What do you do at the beginning of a new year? Make resolutions you won’t keep?
I suggest instead of resolutions you ask yourself some questions.
Starting a new year is a good time to make a fresh start.
However, if you don’t take time to talk to yourself
about what you want and precisely how you will achieve it, than
you are just wasting time and setting yourself up for disappointment.
Here are some questions to ask yourself. Take time to think about these
questions. Be honest with yourself and make sure that some of your answers make you feel uncomfortable. If your answers don’t make you feel uncomfortable, you haven’t set your goals high enough. Than handwrite questions and answers in a journal or on a paper .(Research shows people who take handwritten notes out-perform those who use a laptop.
Now let’s get started.
Question #1. What do you want to accomplish at the end of 2018 that will enable you to pat yourself on the back and feel that it was a year well-spent?
Question #2: What action steps do you need to take in order to get that result(s)?
Question #3: What do you need to do that makes you uncomfortable in order
to get that result(s).
Question #4: What do you need to stop doing in order to get that result?
Question #5: List all the actions you need to take (from questions, 2, 3 & 4) and the dates when you are going to start taking them (no later than 7 days from doing this exercise)
Question # 6: How are you going to track your actions to confirm you are in motion?
Question#7: How will you hold yourself accountable? Who will hold you accountable?
